Partnership with CADin in Cascais provides pedagogical scientific workshops with children that attend the institution.
The second edition of the Simbiontes project, promoted by Associação Viver a Ciência (VAC), starts in October at CADin (Center for the Support of Infant Development) in Cascais. The initiative will provide pedagogical scientific workshops with children that suffer from Autism Spectrum Disorders and aims to promote the creation of material that can be sold and ensure the financing of an award for Portuguese scientific research in the health department – the Simbiontes Autism Prize.
Between October 2011 and March 2012 CADin will host, every two weeks, workshops where several themes related to science will be approached: Paleontology, Astronomy, Polar Science, Laboratory Experiences, among others. The initiative will allow children that attend this institution to develop a close relationship with several science themes, showing them what is researched in Portugal and creating opportunities to contact with scientists.
